By using games in the class is another way to keep the students focus.
it makes the class more interestign for them. great way to have your students enjoy class.
I like to do games and give the students complimentary services. (we are a beauty school) they always have so much fun!!!
I also use games, divide the class into teams of 4 or 5, have them compete against one another for extra credits and awards. Works really well, keeps their attention while they are learning in a subliminal manner
I use games and give extra points on quizzes for the winners. Works great
this in approach I had never considered until this "course", and something that I want to try to build for my classes. If I can figure it out, should be a GREAT addition !
It is extremely important to keep the students focused in class. One thing that we have to remember is that we cannot teach the student the way we (the instructor) are comfortable learning. We have to teach to all learning styles. In the classroom I enjoy using vocabulary words to play games such as hang man, wheel of fortune, jeopardy, matching, go fish, etc. I also think that with our curriculum it is pretty easy to keep the students focused because we have videos to watch, power point presentations to use during lectures, and other activities that involve placing the students in groups.
I like to give projects. It gets the students thinking and using their brain.
