Learning objectives

This topic is very good, because shows how the instructor can bring the learner attention to the course is beeing teaching with diferentes activites like a games, power points, music etc. This way the learner will have fun and learn the same time.

I totally agree that the students need to be engaged and benefit greatly from the process of an encouraging and engagement... I think they 'buy into' the process.

Choosing lab activities to the course submit is vital for their understanding.. For example if they on learning about vital signs in class, we will be learning to take BP's and pulse rates in lab.

Doretha,
and I like to share the objectives with the students at the beginning so they are more engaged.

The objective for any subject matter is the outcome what the student should gain/know when completed. As an instructor there are so many tools we can utilize to help students better understand the topics.

steve,
this is a great point & post. We must explore these different ways of presenting the information & you are right, they take more time but are worth it.

All to often I see teachers resort back to the mid-60-70's teaching rout- lecture recite - If we are to advance and capture the attention of our students we must be given the tools and time to create and deliver real-time teaching,
I try to interact and create real world situations and practical application. It's time consuming however the results are well worth the effort

Denise,
there really are many ways that we can help the students learn & make sense of the material that we present to them. The key is to keep them engaged so they can learn.
