Simulation
Simulation in the career education setting is the most effective learning for the beginner. When it is repeated and feedback is given, the objectives can also be aligned at this point.
For most nurses hands on is the way we learn. I have found over the past 9 years of teaching that when the students can take the information in the book and then be given the chance to apply it without reprocussion or a patient's life in danger they tend to learn better. This allows them the opportunity to react as they think they should and then get feedback so that they can see areas for improvement.
I agree with real life simulation. It enhances what to do in real life and the debrief reinforces this knowledge.
The school at which I teach uses a lot of real life simulations in the classroom. It is part of the curriculum. It gives the students an idea of how they should proceed when they get out in their externships and their jobs.
It is the most effective tool for students at any level. The feedback is immediate and easily recognized as a positive or a area of need. It helps to stimulate actual industry practices.
simulation is so helpful in practical classes for the students to learn, and get trough the objectives
We use simulation training all the time in the military and it provides great feedback to the end users. The users get his or her results as he or she completes what the simulation is doing. I find that it helps the users understand where he or she made mistakes and did well at. I’m a fan of simulation training.

I especially like this statement because I teach math. It is not uncommon for math teachers to be asked from students why they need this course or what are they ever going to use this math for. Simulation really helps answer that because it brings it home for them.
I agree; providing an environment that closely mirrors their real working situation is critical to facilitate effective and efficient learning.
