Training sequence
I feel that the student need to understand termonolgy and symbols before any training will be effective. The students will further be in a more comfortable zone with this information up front.
Sometimes it is necessary to give terminology to students; so, that they can understand the lecture. I like to use examples with each term given. As the quarter progresses and that term comes up again, I will see how many people recall the definition. I will define the term again if necessary. Through repetition the students usually begin to understand.
Training sequence depends on the topic being taught. The goal however, is to deliver and impart knowledge and so students benefit from the experience; practicing, having hands-on in a fun way.
I agree. I teach culinary and I feel it is very important to understand fundamentals, terminology and technique before a student can succeed comfortably. Back chaining I don't believe works well in my situation.
