try to keep the class in tune with the subject matter and keep it pleasurable,keep it in a manner that will keep them at ease. i feel this very important as far as retention. they will want to be involved.

I agree totally. If the students do not want to be involved, they will not retain any information.
I find that if you create a fun learning environment that the students feel apart of rather than just throwing information at them tends to help them want to be in class.
There are just too many distractions in todays classroom so retention is not a concern for students.
yes indeed. The way an instructor lectures can definitely affect retention. Its important to keep students motivated so they will want to be in class everyday. Some instructors just lectures on and on without thought of how the students are grasping the subject. This can bore students and cause them to be frustrated in attending class. Therefore its always good to spice up things and keep it interesting.
I will try to generate as much interest by telling the students how much intrest I have in the material and how much money can be made if they are good at their job. This will start to create excitement, then I will wet their appitite by showing them something that can help them excel at what they are doing.This will bring them back wanting more.
i always watch the mood of the students and feel the classroom vibes. they love it when you know them.
