Colors & Memorable Learning'

I have been working on adding new approaches to my instruction. Adding new situations and new scenarios during the learning process may create an accelerated learning environment. I will experiment with this in my next class.

Joyce,
and sadly it's often one of the aspects that we pay the least amount of attention to, yet it can make a significant difference.

Classroom set up is important to the lesson being taught as well as the proper use of color to help retention of material.

Jenny,
the colors can stimulate interest & they also help to highlight important ideas & topics as well.

Again, I believe students become bored in the classroom environment.
I intend to include more color in the classroom. I hope to initiate the positive effects from newness and the unexpected.

Julia,
the only suggestion I can think of is to see if you could show pictures on the screen?

I work closely with the memorable learning but the copiers we use are black/white, so what can I do to give the students the opportunity to see the vivid pictures that are in the books but not on the handouts?

I am trying to get away from uses of traditional books and trying to incorporate newer technology like use of the internet and you-tube. Finding reputable information can be a challenge and requires itme and patience

And I always have something for them to look at that is related to the topic for the day,to increase their retention. And sine we have lots of area to use where I'm at, I tend not to stay on the same room or area every class for a change of scenery. These seems o work so I intend to keep it that way.

Janet,
yes, the colors can really help students see where the different points intersect, etc.

I keep looking
for ways to increase students memorable learning and I think setting the classroom up for fun is helpful. I try to come up with fun ideas to remember the main point of the lesson and how to use the reference books. I will try to reinforce this by using colored reminders to the important points.

joseph,
exactly, we have to guard against becoming complacent & content with status quo.

The key is to be continually finding new ways to improve the learning environment. The key is also new scenarios that stand out for the students.

Christopher ,
yes, the various situations, scenarios, case studies all greatly help students in learning concepts & applying them.
