Repetition
When students are peforming laboratory skills repetition is a must. Repetition will make them understand how the test are done and why.
Yes Nick the more you practice the better you get? But in our case that isn't true! In welding it is a trade or an art that some people just don't get! There are a lot of people whom don't have the hand eye coordination to weld! Some times even the patience.
Andric,
yes, nothing aids learning quite like repetition.
Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
repetition is the way to go you will get a better understanding of how things work and why they work that way if you repeat them and it also helps you learn more and understand it more the more times you do it then it grows on you and then you build up that confidence
Repetition in the welding field is a must. the more welds a student runs the better they can see and understand the puddle.
I believe in this hold hardly. Because practice makes perfect. You get better the more you do something
Repetition is great for lab exercises. I also have my students reflect and explain why they are performing the lab in a particular sequence and the objective of the procedure.
I agree. I am in the automotive field and this is the way the students will become successful.
I agree especially in the phlebotomy class. Every student gets better with each venepucture especially they build their confidence.
I agree whole-heartedly with this statement. This is especially true for laboratory and hands-on skills for any medical field.
Brenda,
and a great way to emphasize or help with retention is through the repetition & use of various aids.
Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Retention is so important to my nursing stuents and how they are learning.
Kristen,
this is great as it combines the repetition with building the "muscle memory."
Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Repetition is HUGE in our field of study. Our students will cut, color and perm wrap several times. Helps with remembering the procedures and overall speed.
Yolanda,
So true, nothing can really replace the value of the repetition & practice.
Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Repetition is a must. Practice, practice, practice make it perfect. It builds confidence and self-esteen.
Johan,
the repetition of the skills & behaviors is key to retention.
Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
I agree, I also teach clinical classes and I tell me students that the more you practice and do a skill the faster you will master the skill.
charlene,
all of this is true & the emphasis on speed & efficiency is key.
Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
Repetition is a must for the dental hygiene and I think for most vocations. It not only builds confidence and speed, it helps perfect many skills
