Often times during eye contact you can get a feel for the students understanding of the topic. There is a big diffrence between confusion and understanding.
yes it shows that your talking to the oersonand one on one for a moment
Hi Frank!
Eye contact is such an important part of our communication process - and - funny faces are always good! Instructors wantto and should be connected to each student or at least make students' feel there is a connection. When someone is made to feel important or recognized, they are much more successful.
Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your reply, I will give the funny faces a try.
Making the eye contact lets you see if the student understands the topic and allows some humor when you make funny faces at them. Keep them entertained and they enjoy learning.
Greetings Rob!
It is difficult to describe how important eye contact is. I am a business education teacher at a small Technical Trades school and I actually show students how to use "positive" eye contact to their advantage - expecially in the interview process.
Keep up the good work!

I agree with you for the most part, however I've notice this tends to make some students very uncomfortable and will immediately shift their head downward. Anyone have any suggestions?
