When I am teaching a difficult concept to my classes, I often find that many students cannot focus on the material for a variety of reasons. To fully engage the students in the subject matter to assess the their understanding. If they do not understand I then try a different method to help the students grasp the material. I tell my students that they need to ask as many times as necessary for them to understand the material.

Students love hearing real life stories of an instructors experience. I use stories to help clarify a point in the classroom.

Hi J. Newman!

Your suggestion goes back to repeat, repeat, practice and then repeat again! Learning definitely takes place through repetition.

Keep up the good work!

In relation to what you have said, I try my hardest to give real life experiences from my life or ask students to share theirs. Being able to relate course material to experiences trully helps in understanding. Often times I would rather students give me examples then general understaning because it ensures that they do "get it!"
