Using actual memorable examples help students relate what is being "learned in the classromm" to how it actually "applies in the work place." When the students hear about actual application, they will retain the information taught better because they will see the pratical "real world" value of the information. As an attorney, teaching in a paralegal curriculum, I frequently discuss "real" cases with my students. This always grabs their attention and helps tie in that what we are learning about in class will actually be used on the job.
