Developing good comunication skills
In my experience i find that good body gestures realy help me in communicating with my students. If my students see me come in to class exicted and in a good mood it trully reflects on them causing them to also feed off my possitive energy. I believe that we speak louder with our bodie language than what we actually say.
Loretta,
the instructor has a great influence over the tone or the mood of the class as a whole & even from day to day. The more authentically enthusiastic I am, the more likely the students are to be engaged.

Hello Israel,
I completely agree with your statement. As a technology instructor, I truly enjoy what I'm teaching. If I am enjoying the lesson, most likely the students are also. My enthusiasm through gestures, voice and movement keeps the students engaged.

Another thing is when enter the class with a positive attidude and energized the students feel energectic as well, and to me it makes your day go great as well as the student. With this makes them more excited to come to class the next day.
Israel,
I too have found that entering the classroom with a positive attitude & excitement about the class, "rubs off" on the students and sets a good tone for the whole class period.

Israel,
yes, many studies show that nonverbal communication is actually responsible for 60-80% of the message (this varies depending on who you read). It definitely is a significant & important part of our whole communication package.
