Groups

Tom have a class size where it is very important that all the students get involved, individual groups do make a considerable difference in what the students wiil come away with.

I found the same thing. My groups were orginally 5-6 people. The weaker ones just copied from the stronger ones. My groups are now no larger than three people. It is way easier to control and there seems to be less down time.

Agree small groups work better. I will also change the people in the group after a while so they are exposed to other ppls opinion & backgrounds.

My class is set up to be like that ,to make gruops, the daily production of the day is made by gruops and I like this way because it makes them learn how to work as a team.

I used to have groups of 5-6 students and sometimes not everyone would participate. Now, I have only have groups of 2 students and each one has to participate or the work doesn't get done.

Groups need to stay managable

I always love to turn the classroom into individual groups when I have in-class lab. I place my weak student with stronger students. It works well.
