We have a pre test that i use to determine the students work groups.
Hi Anthony!
What instruments do you use for pertesting?
Thanks,

I make groups based on how I feel the students will work together putting a weaker student with a strong student helps both of them develop. Somtimes this can come from a pre test and somtimes its a hunch. Either way if it doesnt work out you can always change it up. I like to change groups anyway to change the dynamics of the class.
Greetings Danny!
What pre-tests do you use?

pretesting gives you a scope of what the class has already learned
Pre-testing works well in an inviorment where so many levels of understanding and experience are present. Knowing where a student is in understanding the material will set the starting place for an instructor.
At this point I allow the students to pick. Maybe this is something we could do as well.
A pretest is a great way to help choose diverse work groups. For my students it seems to stop alot of the social distractions that can arise.
I also use a pretest to help determine student work groups.
i beleive that may work for our enviroment because we are a hands on learning center but for some situation this may not be the right path to take
