Enhancing Student Learning

what type of relationship should we have with out students that will foster a great learning environment?

Hi Jeff!

Another great approach to student outcomes. You are absolutely correct - trust - is an intregal part of students' learning experience. I've always felt like students should feel like they are the only student in the class because they know the instructor is very interested in their learning and personal outcomes. We can't teach without compassion, emphathy or some level of understanding human nature. Sounds like your have all of this!

Keep up the good work!

I think if you make it obvious that you are there first and foremost to help them SUCEED and get them to trust you on that fact than you will have a greater chance of getting them to listen to what you have to say. Not only are you there to "teach" and to do your job, but turning them into individual successes is the greatest thing you can hope for. Sell the students on this and they will start to open up.

I think that our relationship with students needs to remain professional, first and foremost.

Students need to know that a line is drawn between you, the instructor, and they, the student(s) so that an overly friendly relationship does not develop.

At the same time, a great learning environment will emerge with you as the instructor empathizing with student concerns, offering students as many tools as possible to succeed, and remaining available and accessible.

This is my humble opinion.

One of trust, honesty, dependability. Then you have a good working relationship with your students.

a close freidly relationship must build up between the two party, with full confidenceand understanding of the ability of the student .

a one on one feeling is very great for the students, in such enviroment the students will be able to have confort working with the instructor and willing to build full attintion to the instruction and the learning process.
