Pausing during class instruction
I realize that I should take the time to pause more often, to keep track of what everyone is doing in the classroom. It would definately keep me on track, as well as the students. I could spend more time with those that seem a bit lost.
We all know that a "pause" re-focuses the group (student)...when I stop talking...all look up to see If I fell over or something (I'm being dramatic) here...I use this pregnant pause to shift topics/gears or re-emphasize a point.
Hi Shanon!
Great comments! The other thing that I could add, it also gives students an opportunity to collect theirs thoughts so that they can respond in a logical/ thought out way to the topic being discussed. It's not just a disciplinary tool. what do you think?
Keep up the good work!

i have found pausing to be a great method to use in the classroom, it stops any chatter going on while your speaking.it brings focus back to the matter at hand and serves as a little reminder of why their in the class to begin with.
