They say, 6-8 members in a group will help students to connect with each other and learn the subject more effectivily.

it does depend on the project, yet I tend to agree that 3-5 is the ideal group size.

I cant even imagine a group assignment that contains enough "sharable" work for a group of 8! I agree that 4-5 is better for most college group projects. :)
I think a group of four will help students to focus on the subject, and also help each other.
I like to use 4 to 5 students. I find that any larger, and they get off task. With the nursing program, the class size is relatively small, so having smaller groups helps to facilitate effective learning.

I think this is a good number. Really for me, anywhere in the 4-8 range works well, any less & it's hard to function, anymore & you're a committee.
