small group projects
teach team building and help students see how they are doing course wise
I absolutely agree with you. When I assigned group projects I also make each student within the group discuss each other's strengths and weakness. This allows them to assign each individual a task that would be fitting and beneficial to the entire group.
This works very well in Lab Exercises. I set up teams that are given a ventilator each and a patient situations. They play until one team has taken the simulation to its conclusion.
By having small groups of 6-8 students it may allow for each to take on a leadership role. This will feed each student different ideas from different individuals allowing for growth.

I like small group projects it gets students use to working with different people everyday especially in health care it is essential to the job. You will experience different personalities and ideas! Love it!
the small groups work much better than the large ones
