teachers have to teach to students and work with language barriers
We must work on ways to get the class content across to ELL students. This often takes extra time and effort, however it is very important because it will help to prevent the student from becomig frusterated or lost.
How can we teach with language barriers unless you know the language they speaking. If not you are setting them up to fail and take away their motivation .
This is almost like anything today. With that I mean, I would say that I have an encounter with a Semi-English speaking person everyday. As we grow as a whole (that being on earth), this type of open communication needs to be addressed.
Our language barriers someday won't be so difficult....
I find myself having several different countries representing my class population. I constantly have to review not only the business jargon, but the application and normal framework of the words and situations. It is very rewarding to have students understand and respond to issues "outside" the normal subject matter that they would not get in any other venue. I teach business and relate business topics, but teaching how an employment application works or filling out a savings account app for a student from India helps them become a whole person and supports my teaching responsibilities.
Hmmm, yes, I see what you're saying here. Interesting.
