tutoring

Tutoring provides a dedicted time frame where concepts can be clarifed. It can be an abundantly fruitful time.

I find tutoring very effected. my students like the personal attention that come with this style of intervention for the student.

I find tutoring to be the most sucessful approch with my students as they like the personal attention and it acts like a motivator to continue to learn.

Great approach Kimberly!

Everyone now has responsibility for the learning process.

Keep up the good work!

I've started the process of instituting a tutoring lab. When a peer is the one teaching, it seems to take the pressure off of the student to perform for the instructor.

I also encourage tutoring almost daily to my students. Sadly it seems that the students that are doing well in class are the ones that usually go for the tutoring. I also see a huge increase in students seeking tutoring as finals approach.

I agree the instructor has to set the tone for the classroom making sure each student understands the lesson topic

I do the same. If a student is having problems with study skills or has "test phobia" tutoring is available to help overcome these obstacles

We offer tutoring all the time. Even highly suggest it. However, we don't very often have someone take us up on it. Any ideas of how to motivate them more to sign up and participate in the tutoring?

We encourage tutoring in our class sessions however; it's the senior students who tutor the beginning students. They insure the ability for all beginning students to have a fair chance at passing the class as well as build relationships w/them to utilize outside the classroom when they begin working in the field.

Tutoring is a very important time set apart from regular classes, where any misunderstanding or unclear subject issues that is not clear can be addressed.Utilized correctly it can be powerful support learning tool for the student.

I try to get the faster, more advanced student to tutor the struggling students. That way the advanced student also has the advantage of learning more, as we all know teaching others is surely the fastest way to learn something!

Hi Stephen!

Great approach! We often think that we know what a student needs so it is much better when they tell us.

Good job!

I do not re-teach the lesson but cover topics that were not previously understood. Put the ball in their court by asking them specifically what it is that they dont understand.

I think that the "small" things like offering tutoring to students can help them develop better grades and personal perfomance. Some students do not do well in large group enviroment and need the one on one attention to fully grasp the concept giving

I think the idea of tutoring is great. I make announcements to the class often about signing up for tutoring sessions.

Fruitful true but some student use Tutoring as a way out, what I mean is they will not study and then want tutoring so I try to have them go through the course and study on the topic we are on and then high light what they do not understand and then I will help them , however I will not give them answers and they know that.
