I like to use students that can speak spanish to assist students with little english skills.

I find using the see one, do one , teach one theory helpful to both students
I find this strategy very helpful when students are working in small groups to accomplish the myitlab.com assignments. They provide assistance - students complete the assignment without as much frustration, and feel good about themselves at the end of call. Students are to speak English during class, i.e., participation in the class discussion, presentations, etc., but this one-2-one assistance from a Spanish speaking peer is a valuable classroom resource.
