What do student need?
Students need an enviroment to feel at ease to learn.
I agree, when a student is more comfortable, learning the new information is a lot easier. Mainly having "fun" will help them learn better. A little bit of humor during training is not a bad thing. It lessens the tension on the student and the class.
I feel the success of all relationships depends on one's ability to devlop a consciousness around the needs of all. The key to identifing needs is 'empathy'. Students and instructors needs change as the rhythm of the learning environment shifts. It is paramount for the instructor to, as Steve Covey said, "Seek first to understand and then to be understood".
