Learning with special needs
At some point it can be diffcult working with a studnet who has a learning diffculty, for alot of them espically as an adult does not want to admit infront of their classmates that they have a learning problem, therefore they hide and go with the flow as they say.
Sean,
this is a great example of what I'm guessing we will start to see more & more in our classes. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I am currently dealing with special needs student for the first time. I have two new students who are veterans of the Iraq war. They both suffer from PTSD and require a slightly different approach on my part than the rest of the class. Ive found they are both very appreciative of any extra instruction I provide and Im quite happy to go above and beyond for both of them.
Verna,
this is sadly true. One of our key opportunities is to demonstrate to each of our students our desire to assist them in being successful in any way we can. If we show this it may open more opportunities to help the struggling learners.
