Language barriers

It helps to show a lot of pictures when training students with disabilities

Language barriers can be difficult when teaching new skills. I find a picture is worth a thousands words and hands on helps a lot.

Mario,
yes, the mix of teaching content & hands on is powerful for most learners.

Ryan Meers, Ph.D.

hands on in lab area great form of information storage. When introduced to new task in your education visual learners are more apt to obtain the the concepts if it can be associated with an image.or in a lab hands on.

I have taught at 3 different schools in the past 10 years and have found that there are not a lot of programs to help our second language learners. Is there any other on line resources where we can send them? I find I get ESL students who are not prepared for my previous Vocational Nursing Theory Classes.

Sandra,
yes the visual images are a great way to present information & you are right that this is a way to reach a variety of learners.

Even when there is no define learning barrier such as language, images area great form of information storage. When introduced to new words in your education visual learners are more apt to obtain the word and its definition if it can be associated with an image.

I think pictures are great because they allow for all perspectives and possible methods of delivery to used by the instructor in their presentation

Especially, the A and P course, if we can show the students structure of the heart, they can understand the disorder for sure.

yes show lots of pictures and give lots of specific examples

I know that this is true because it allows them to actually get a true vision of what is being taught. It connects the dots

timothy ,
yes, the more diversity we can bring to our teaching methods, the greater the likelihood that we will reach all of the learners in our groups.
