Learning Disabilities

I have found that dealing with a student who has a learning disability, you must take extra time with them. Depending upon their disability that could be writing every detail of instruction on the board or going over a problem many times.

It's really helpful to build a good professional relationship with whatever academic support specialist is at your school. Knowing what a student's Individual Education Plan says can be vital to their success in the class.

Extra time is a must for a student with a learning disability. I have also found varying the presentation method can be very helpful.
