It is our job as educators to meet the needs of our students; esspecially those who cannot access the material without help.

I agree with our school not being required to go by the IEP laws, but we still get students with disabilities that require additional time and instruction.

As an educator, being of service to your students is of the utmost importance. Take the extra few minutes after class to connect with all students, particularly those with learning disabilities. See what they need to understand all assignments and responsibilities. Be kind and take time to make sure ALL your students are fully informed.

I totally agree. We as educators should help learners with disabilites to become more confident and successful.

I agree that as educators we sometimes must go out of our way to help students with learning disabilities. More patience is sometimes needed. A good idea is to spend some time after class to be sure that student understands the lesson and what has to be done for his assignment. Giving extra time during a test can also be helpful.
