Pro-active students with learning disabilities know what works best for them based on previous experience. Sharing those with the instructor is mutually beneficial and eases the learning process. I devote time for tutorials in my normal workweek to students who request for it and to those I determine would benefit from it.
Yes, getting to know each student personally allows us to know how best to help them, especially if they have a learning disability of some kind.

Yes & I think using a variety of teaching strategies in general helps all learners, but especially differently abled learners. Use case studies, role plays, lecture, q&a, hands-on, etc to bring the material to life for them. Ask them what they like.

THe use more visual aid is key when dealing with these types of students. I like to use materials the students like to experience.
