Students with disabilities
This type of student can be a challenge but yet so fullfilling, this class has enhanced my desire to continue working this type of student
Paul,
this is a key concept for all of us to remember. No matter how frustrated we may be with the student and his/her progress, we are there to help them be successful.
Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
It is our responsibility as the instructors to help all of our students learn and to figure out the ways they will be successful.
Ronna,
yes, when we see these students truly succeed & thrive it is so encouraging & rewarding & we can use these stories to motivate other students.
Ryan Meers, Ph.D.
working with students that require more time and mainly one on one time is all that is needed most of the time to see them succeed. it is rewarding
I have had several students with learning disabilities. What a very rewarding aspect to our jobs as educators and the to the individual as a graduate, to watch that student walk down the isle as a graduate during commencements!! More importantly to watch that graduate grow within their career is the ultimate reward to both!
We definitely all learn differently. Struggling with reading comprehension myself I am able to understand where the students are coming from.
we must understand theat we all learn differently and with help they can overcome the challenges.
patricia,
what a great attitude to have & you are right, there can definitely be challenges, but also very rewarding when we see the breakthrough.
