How do you address a student that keeps telling you they have a learning disability and don't show up for study session, but does well in class?
This student has a hard time with in class assignments, but does well on test.

andric,

great point to highlight here: the one-one conversation. My job is not to embarrass my students, but to help them & so this is a great approach.

it is very important to help them with there situation and be very nice to them maybe get to a place where it is you and just them so that you dont make it a uncomfortable situation to put you or them in so that they wont get a misunderstanding of where you are going with the conversation that you are only trying to help them better them eslfs in every so is it means letting them know that the time that they are missing in class affects them oin other ways in life

Cheryl,
this is definitely a challenging situation. I would suggest pulling the student aside & addressing these very things with him/her. Point out that you want to help, but they must take ownership of the process.
