Students with learning disabilities
I haven't had the opportinuty to work with student that have disabilities. However, this class really help me understand my role as a instructor to help students with disabilities in the future.
I just graduated a student that was dyslexic. She was amazing with her technical work, and almost always failed tests. (Due to her disability) I am excited to report that she passed her final exam with a 90%!!! I am so proud! They do get it, as long as they have the teachers FULL support!
I have found that it is important to keep an open mind about the abilities of students with disabilities. I continue to be pleasantly surprised by what they can accomplish.
I too, found this training to be informative. I will use what I learned in the future.
Carl,
this is a great testimonial & I think a good reminder. There are no "quick fixes" or easy ways of doing this. It will take time, but the payoff is well worth it as you said.

Several of my students have learning disabilities. Two of my sons have learning disabilities. With accommodations all have succeeded. It takes extra work by all parties, but it is worth it.
