learning styles

I regularly love to incorporate videos in my class power points especially when they relate to the topic we are currently discussing. The students seem to absorb the material more when they can visually see the skills at hand being taught. The demonstration is phenomenal, especially for those students who have not quite grasped the skills that they need to acquire in a hospital setting

I also use a lot of Powerpoints in my lecture. It makes learning a little more interesting and not so boring.

I've done that too... it is fun, and the students seem to enjoy it a great deal.

Marie-Anne,

Jeopardy is indeed a great game to use to help retain information. If you have the students work in groups to create the questions for a category it adds to the fun and to the review process.

One of the group activities that we do in class to follow is a fun "Jeopardy" type question and answer including a Bonus round. This is especially helpful to retain information before an exam.

No doubt about I myself use power point in my lecture in order to visualize step by step the learning material .That process seems to help students to stay focus longer, and have better memory for the learning topic.

joseph,

If you add a discussion or group activity afterwards the retention of information will increase.
