Praise
How do you reward your students or give them praise
Thank you, this's something I am already doing. These classes are confirming the things that I am doing is correct.Teaching is a newly acquired skill for me and I am teaching my students in the manner that I learn learn best. I am trying to learn how best to teach to their individual style, and need. That's the reason behind taking these classes.
I like to use spontaneous praise if a student does a skill in the lab well. People like immediate feedback and it encouragrd them to continue to do their best. I also feel it encourages other students to do well so they too can be praised.
Proper use of Reinforcement/Prise....
Also an excellent tool for slow learners/poor students. As the lesson mentioned, don't over use it.
By responding to a correct answer, sometimes I will ask a student to further explain why he answered as he did. This sometimes instilles further confidence, and and other students learning. If a studend does not know an answer, I quickly ask another student so as not to cause any negative feelings from that student
