Teachers are to model professionalism and be a role model  to students. The instructor needs to continue to grow and develop as a professional and individual while teaching others.

leading your students by example

The most important take aways from this module were:

- Model, manage and motivate students.

- Maintain technical, professional and personal competencies as an instructor

- Establish an instructional style that is most comfortable for me but also compatible with the instructional setting

- Always take advantage of opportunities to grow!

Good material.  It behooves us all to remember our roots and what we're here to do.

I have learned that instructors do most of their class management work before the class begins. They bring management to the classroom  by knowing the subject matter they are teaching and share it throughout the class time.

As a leader in the classrom an instructor should demonstrate professionalism at all times. It doesn't mean that the instructor is aloof or unfriendly. Professionalsim  involes conduct, dress and handling of situations.

Been teaching awhile but good review and new tips

I've learned that it is okay to admit that a mistake was made and own up to it then move on. I'm new to teaching so that made me feel better to know that others have made mistakes, but still done well in this field.

Lead by example follow the 5 C's and with the abilty to inspire, motivate and be the displinarian when needed.

I strive to model professional behavior and adhere to standards of professional nursing to prepare my students to enter the field

model,manage, and motivate

I'm learning a lot. A point I can take with me is to not be buddies with my students and also that I'm not expected to show that I'm the smartest in the room. Great advice

What humbled me was

"You are not the smartest person in the class, there maybe someone smarter."

Lead by example!

As a leader in the classroom, we must lead by example. I appreciated the "5-C's" model.

Have some integrity

Being able to be passionate about your subject and infusing that passion into your students is a great way to establish engagement in a classroom. Being professional and being the model also will go a long way towards helping/being an instructor to the students. Having a professional development plan is a great way to continue your growth as an educator.

I think we need to remenber that at one time we were students. We sat in a classroom and what were are needs or what did exceptations from or instructors. We need to reflect on ehat or demands were and use them as a guide to help or students and meet thier needs.

This module sums up well how to be a good instructor and/ or develop into one.  You need to be a Model for your students, you need to be a good Manager of how the course is delivered and you have to be a Motivator of your students.  Along with the 3 M's you need to have the 5 C's as Cecy Aguilar states.  The goal is student engagement through student-first teaching and student-centric learning where the focus is on applied learning.  To achieve all this a teacher/ instructor has to be a professional and expert in his/ her field and to deliver the content he/ she needs to be up-to-date on modern technology.  Thus, if there is a need the instructor should be open to professional development.

Ensure that you stay current with your technical competencies, and always be pursuing your professional and personal competencies.
