diversity of the delivery of content
I use different delivery methods to appeal to the difference types of learning but also develop students who lack in one inteligence or another.
Troy,
Like your term and like your strategy. This is what adaptive instruction is about.

I like to use an automotive term to describe the ways in which I deliver the material to students of different intellegence, Adaptive Stratagy.
Different delivery methods can touch one or more of the multiple intelligences. Powerpoint, use of the white board, visual aids, and class participation all have their place and I try to incorporate several delivery methods within each lecture.
Gregory,
As you increase your knowledge in this area you will start to see emerging patterns in terms of learner groups. Then your can adapt your instruction to focus on these intelligence areas and increase content retention for your students.

I had never considered multiple intelligences before. I think understanding them and how they apply to learning would be really important to class planning. I need to get an objective view of myself as instructor from the perspective of individuals who reflect the different kinds of intelligence.
Jennifer,
Sounds like a fun and enjoyable way to learn and grow in cognitive processing. I wish you much continued teaching success.

I used to think simply speaking, writing, and occasionally moving around (tactile) would cover the learning styles. Now I try to incorporate much more: i doodle on the board as well as write individual words and phrases related to the lecture; I intersperse storytelling; i have students paraphrase and prove their perspective to the class; i use both group and individual work for the same projects depending on learners' preferences.
