Michael,
So true and so important if we are going to reach all of our students.

versatility is the key because people learn in so many different ways.
David,
I think you will find the results from these assessments valuable to you as you do your instructional planning. I hope your administration buys into using these assessments with students.

Agree -- really hard to find time for such an evaluation in class. Many military schools administer personality and learning evaluations to students upon arrival and before the first day of class. I am going to recommend that our administration consider a similar approach.
There are learning style questionnares that can be found on line that can be given to a student at the beginning of a program and passed on to each instructor the student has as they through the program.
I am in the same situation, teaching math twice a week (2 hr. 15 min classes) for 11 weeks. The best I feel I can do is explain while demonstrating on the board, using computer visuals, written steps on how to solve some problems, and giving frequent, short class assignments. I encourage students to help each other, but don't force the occasional loer unless he/she is lost.
Henry,
Good plan and a good way to get students involved in learning more about themselves. By knowing how they prefer to learn they can focus their efforts in ways that will yield the maximum benefits.

I agree. I find that the courses I teach are very time-intensive. Lots of material to be covered in a short period of time. I think though that the resources (especially the free online assessment) will give students more insight into how they best learn. Maybe they could even submit their findings and earn 5 bonus points!
