Using Student Needs as Learning Tools

I beleive that in general, adult learners, come to class with some level of anxiety. And so, by using different methods/tools the instructor may get a better result by switching his approach depending on students' needs.

Leslie,
As a result I am sure that all of your students benefit from your efforts, not just those that have learning disabilities. Good teaching benefits everyone and this is something we need to focus on in your instructional planning.

I learn from my students. Some have learning disabilities and it forces me to find other avenues of getting through to them. I must slow down and communicate in other subtale ways.

Richard,
I know your students appreciate the supports you are providing them. They need assistance in becoming students once again so they can refresh themselves on note taking, content acquisition and tactile applications.

I really agree with that,I teach adult students ,and some of them have not been in school for a long time ,some have a lot difficulties at home,or some work a lot of hours and do not have time enough to study ,what I usually do ,I use diagrams on the board to convey the message in a easier way,if it is anatomy and physiology ,the diagrams of the body systems contain their main organs ,I show to them and give them time to memorize them to come to the board to label them,at times I ask them to form teams to label the diagram, but I give the same diagram to keep it with them ,and before the next class I give it to them to label in two minutes ,but also I give them package to work on to reinforce what I teaching them then I grade the package and the I usually discuss with them the mistakes to help the students correct them.
