some value of critical thinkers
A critical thinker should be a person to be able to sort an outcome and decision through the information that is available in a shortest time is possible
Mary Jo,
You make good point about the need to be realistic in critical thinking. If we are not realistic we are almost sure to fail because reality has a way of over taking theory when it comes to problem solving.

I also believe that a critical thinker is one that has a realistic expectation on future outcome and not idealistic.
that is true, if the information is relaible. we need to question sourse of it.
gamaliel,
I believe you are correct that a critical thinker should be more. Also, the creation of "quick and assertive responses" usually comes with an experienced critical thinker within the subject matter being addressed. Thank you for your contribution.

I believe that a critical thinker should be more than a person who is "able to sort an outcome and decision through the information that is available in a shortest time possible", a person who gathers past experiences and knowledge when faced with a current challenge and mixes those two resources to create a quick and assertive response to solve this challenge.
Hello Abdul.Gardezy,
Yes, as the critical thinker gains experience and knowledge in particular areas of expertise, he/she is often able to accomplish the process in much shorter timeframes. The focus must be on thoroughness of the analysis process and the elimination of intuitive jumps. This is sometimes the error created when the speed of the decision or outcome becomes the focus. Even though the intuitive jumps are correct in many instances, the follow through of the complete critical thought process usually has a higher level of success. The you for your helpful contribution.
