Thinking
Not everyone can think in a critical manner to get the right result in working out problems.
Pattara,
You are doing such a service to your students by taking this approach. If they are spoon fed answers they will never develop the ability to thinking critically and become problem solvers. Keep up the good work of helping them learn how to think for themselves.

I do find that many students now do lack the ability to think critically. This is why it is imporatant for us as instructors to direct them to be able to do so. For instance, when a student asks me a question, I don't immediately offer them the answer. Instead, i ask them questions that would lead them to come up with the correct answer.
Norma,
Thank you for these good comments about how to approach students and consider their different learning preferences. The more we know about them the more accurately we can be with our instructional delivery.

I have been able to refer back to these classes we have been taking to find out what type of teaching style would work for that particular student or situation, as you said there are many different levels of thinking and problems, our students come into our classes with a wide range of education, cultural and social backgrounds that our teaching cannot always be cookie cutter style.
We must adapt to each student/situation in the manner that works best, to get the best out of the students learning experience.
Anneke,
Yes, there are many different level of critical thinking, but also many different levels of problems.
