Problem solving takes time and thought. It allows you to write it out, discuss with others and then choose the solution and accept the results.

Juan,
Yes, it does take time and requires effort. The more we can help our students to develop patience and skills in this area the more successful they will be in their careers.

Problem solving does take time. There is no quick way through it unless your knowledge base in a certain area helps you through. Working as a team with multiple brainstorming team members might help the process move along a little easier. So as a class we all discuss the best way to solve some senerios I bring to mind in the classroom. It opens up other students to think of things in different ways.

However, some decisions to problems need to come quickly and cannot wait until you map out every angle. But, I guess this is where experience comes into play.

Agree whole-heartedly. There is something to be said of the way our elders did things. They took their time and, dare I say, didn't make as many mistakes as the younger ones of today.

Marvis,
Yes, it does and for many people this is too much effort. An effective problem solver is going to be successful in what every career that is entered.
