Problem Solving Steps
I feel it is very important to examine the steps to problem solve and follow them accordingly. I notice with my students that they want to skip steps and still try to achieve the end result.
Kodee,
There is definitely a learning curve in acquiring problem solving skills. We need to provide a variety of ways for our students to experiment and learn how to follow all of the steps that result in problems solved and satisfaction for a job well done acquired.

I agree, I have the same issue with my students. Because the steps of the entire process havent been used, the desired results are not achieved. This results in frustration on the students part, which may in turn, emphasize the need for all the steps.
Dena,
This reminds me of someone trying to put together a child's toy early on a Christmas morning without reading the directions. Many a disaster has come of this. You have to read directions and then follow them. In problem solving students need to learn the steps and then follow them. When they do they will come up with viable solutions.
