Understanding Student Characteristics
Now that I have a clear understanding of the concerns that adult learners may have as they enter into college, I can server as a better facilitator and help them meet their needs.

This is one of the reasons I like having them in my classes. They know what they want out of the class and they have the life experiences to help them understand why they are being taught what they are and how that content applies to their lives.

The adult learner is more focused and is always willing and ready to learn. They are ready to relate the lessons with their every day experience and look forward to their future career.

They generally are because the value of the education they are receiving. They have goals and are working toward them. They "get it" in terms of being in school.
