I have seen more military students in my classroom, they seems to more mature and responsible in their demeanors then my younger students.
Our adult learners tend to be very dedicated. they are serious about their classwork and make the most of every day. They pay attention, they are prompt and usually do very well.

They have goals and limited time as you say so we need to make sure we are offering content of value in a way that they can acquire the knowledge and skills while moving toward their career goals.
