Being a teacher after being a student .
Teaaching at the school whare I was a student I know what the student is going thru so I can help them better.
As stated in the other posts I too work at the school at which I was a student. I have a great support system from allmy former instructors and I'm so grateful to have them all as my mentors. I am also thankful for my experiecnes as a student. I relate them to all of my students. they will now come to me with any issues they are haveing with their coures to see how we can develope a bettrer game plan so to speak, so they can achieve their goals.
Hi Dustin,
What a great setting you are in. You know the ins and outs of the school so you can develop your approach around how the school operates. You have great resources with your previous instructors being available to you.

I too went to the school that I now teach at. Some of the best instructors that I had are still there and are most of the time willing to help with my improvement on teaching skills. I appreciate all the instructors I had when then there as a student and am trying to do my best for the students that I now have since I know how they feel in those stools....
I have a "Welcome Back, Kotter" moment every morning, too. And it is valuable. As other posters have noted, there's a special determination in trying to keep your school at a level of which you can be proud.
That said, not everybody is able to get hired at their old school.
I teach at a similar facility that I previously attended. Remembering the obstacles I had going to school, are a big part of my teaching style.
I also went to the school where I teach.
Many things have changed since I was a student however, I had pride as a student and that has carried over in my teaching. I work hard to keep the students excited about school and the industry.
