refocus
When my battery needs a boost,I try to remeber what it was like for me in school and how important it is to be an example.
Gary,
This little breaks pay big rewards because you are letting the minds of your students reset themselves by going outside and walking around. When the come back to class they are ready to focus back onto the learning that is needed.

if I feel like I am loosing focus I like to take a mini field trip, just take the whole class outside and find an example of what we are discussing. this clears my head and sparks energy in the whole group.
I also love the feeling of having the whole class involvement with real life stories; it reminds me what I have been through and why I’m here in the first place.
I try to list acheivements and focus on skills learned. What goals set forth have been reached or nearly reached. Remembering that all go thru this and it will pass, with renewed focus and concentration. I love to tell real life stories and keep them pertaining to the issue or project at hand, students love them especially ones that make them laugh! I seem to see students let out a big breath and know things can be worked out with persistence.
