Rapport
I think that it is important that you build rapport with your students. This will help the students better understand you as an instructor and what you expect from your students.
Hi kim
Yes I agree. Even changing the scene from classroom to an outdoor BBQ and class instruction has helped. Students feel more relaxed and enjoy a class outside on a beautiful day.

Hello:
I teach both online and face to face courses. Business and accounting. I have found that rapport is the most important thing in the classroom. If I do not have rapport with students then there is no exchange between us or other classmates.
I'm now teaching some students for the second and third times and the rapport is great. We can move right into the material and they have a trust that I can and will deliver the material that is needed to succeed. I'm also able to open the discussions up so that they can be accountable to the course material and to apply it to their own needs.
Yes, I agree. Once a line of trust is in place, the student can relax and benefit from what the instructor has to offer. :)
