Oooh! I like this. I have just done the same old boring recap. But I like having the students get involved. If they know that they might have to do a summary it might help them to review, even for a few minutes before the next class. It's always good to see how the students have perceived the lesson. Yes I do this at the end of class and when beginning. We play a litle game. Sometimes it is in teams or just individuals. This keeps students focused during class .Sometimes I have one of them ask the questions or summarize the lesson. This puts the student in charge and it helps me see if I am getting my point across the way I intended.
