building rapport
It is very important to buld rapport that students feel confident about the teacher.
Sharing your experince in the field you are teaching helps them see the human aspect. Being respectful and treating your students like adults is vital to building a rapport. It is important that instructors talk to their students not at or down to them.
First day of class, I can repeat the names of all of my students, whether there are 3 or 25. I do have that ability to retain names. I does hep build rapport with my students and the respect the fact that I find them important enough to remember their names. The respect goes both ways.
