Be focused yourself
The student take direction froom the instructor.
I have to stop and hear my own message and stay on the topic and refocus my energy back to the subject at hand. I believe you have to be able to listen to your self too.

when i enter my classroom i use the same strategy i teach my students and that is when you are in the class room it is imperative that learning is what we're doing. i am social with my students but when it comes time to learn i am all business. and that is the way i find keeps them most focused. when they realize i am focused myself they follow suit. instructors must lead by example.
