Kari,
This is why often times I do something very different around mid-course because my students are getting tired and worn down. We play games where we review content covered as well as role play. This gets them ramped up once again and ready to move forward.

Students can burn out in school, just as we have all seen or experienced burn out in our career. It is important to help combat this while they are students, so that they will be better prepared if/when it happens in their career.
