No Matter what is going on work on the student
Financial Aid, meetings and uther issues will try and distract you, remember the students are your focus
ROBIN,
This is what student centered teaching should be about. As an adjunct you can enjoy your time with your students without hopefully too much engagement in the administrative issues that goes with being a full time instructor.

Students are the reason we are teaching; as an adjunct, I don't get caught up too much in the other issues (meetings, etc) because we typically only deal with the students. The only time I get caught up in those things is if a student comes to me with an issue, asking for help.
Students are the "customers" and we are in customer service. We are there to make sure their needs and expectations are being met.
Gregory,
Good advice though sometimes hard to follow. Seems education is bent on adding more committees and spending more time in meetings than actually working with students.
