Enthusiasm Vs. Apathy
Instructor enthusiasm is the essential force needed for student success. Instructor apathy is a virus that can wipe out an entire class.
Thomas,
Well said and so important. I agree with you. When I am no longer excited about teaching and working with students I need to quit and do something else so I don't impact the lives of my students in a negative way.

I have a vivid memory (even though it was many years ago) of college professors who loved what they were teaching and it showed in their classroom enthusiasm. Personally, if I lose my enthusiasm for teaching I may look for another field of work. The students deserve as much.
William,
Yes it is. If we are not excited about what we are teaching nor have passion for our field then it is for sure that our students won't either.
